The other side may already be building its case.

When something has gone seriously wrong, you're trying to figure out what happened, what your rights are, and what comes next.

Meanwhile, an insurance company, corporation, property owner, employer, or other business may already be investigating the situation, evaluating its exposure, and deciding how to respond. Catherine Levacy knows that process from the inside.

For much of her career, Catherine defended insurance companies, corporations, and employers. Today, she puts that experience to work representing people who need someone in their corner. At Levacy Law, you aren't a case number in a high-volume operation.

Why Levacy Law

She Spent Years Learning

How the Other Side Thinks.

The other side may already be building its case.

Before Catherine Levacy represented individuals and families, she represented many of the organizations they find themselves up against.

For much of her career, Catherine defended insurance companies and corporations, including AIG, Kemper, and Allstate, working alongside leading Houston defense firms.

She learned how insurers and corporate defense teams investigate cases, evaluate risk, approach settlement negotiations, prepare witnesses, develop trial strategy, and decide when to fight.

She also saw firsthand what happens when an individual is suddenly facing an organization with experienced lawyers, investigators, adjusters, and significant resources behind it.

Catherine founded Levacy Law to bring that experience to the other side of the courtroom. Today, she represents people who have been seriously injured through negligence, survivors pursuing civil claims, and consumers harmed by unfair or deceptive business practices.

Her perspective is different because she doesn't have to guess how the other side may approach a case. She's been there.

50+

Jury Trials

Catherine has taken more than 50 jury trials to conclusion over more than two decades of litigation.

Preparation Requires Discipline

It means understanding which facts will matter. Which arguments are likely to withstand scrutiny. Where the weaknesses are. What evidence needs to be developed. And how a complicated story can ultimately be explained clearly to a jury.

Prepared for the Possibility

Not every case goes to trial. But Catherine believes a strong case should be prepared with the understanding that it might.

A Career Built in the Courtroom

Prosecutor. Defense Attorney. Trial Lawyer.

Catherine's experience spans multiple sides of the legal system

Phase 1

Prosecutor

Catherine served as an Assistant District Attorney in two Texas counties, handling felony dockets and gaining extensive courtroom experience. She also handled federal health care fraud matters for the U.S. Attorney's Office. That work required her to investigate complicated facts, evaluate evidence, make difficult judgment calls, and present cases clearly in court.

Prepared to Go to Trial

A strong case is built with the understanding that it may ultimately need to be presented to a jury.

Experience From Both Sides

A Fourth-Generation Texan

Texas Isn't Just Where Catherine Practices Law. It's home.

Catherine is a fourth-generation Texan, and her connection to the state, its communities, courts, juries, and people, has shaped both her career and the way she practices.

After decades spent representing organizations and prosecuting cases, she built Levacy Law in Houston around a straightforward idea:

Behind every case file is a person whose life may have changed in an instant. That person deserves to be heard.

A trial attorney who knows how the other side thinks.

Catherine Levacy has spent more than two decades in courtrooms across Texas and beyond. Before founding Levacy Law, she defended insurance companies and corporations, including AIG, Kemper, and Allstate, working alongside leading Houston defense firms.

She also served as a prosecutor, handling federal health care fraud cases for the U.S. Attorney's Office and felony dockets as an Assistant District Attorney in two Texas counties.

Your lawyer should know your name — and your case.

Levacy Law was built to be different from high-volume firms where clients can feel like one case among hundreds.

Your case isn't passed through a system designed around volume. Catherine takes a hands-on approach to the matters she accepts.
